Best of Disney Quick Service

Today we take a look at what we think are the best quick-serve (non table service) restaurants at the parks that make up the Walt Disney World resort. Remember, these are our favorites and if you disagree with us, please let us know.

Magic Kingdom

Winner: Pinocchio’s Village Haus

Pinocchio’s is a fun to eat at location with some tables receiving a view of the boats entering It’s a Small World. The cuisine is made up of Italian favorites including flat breads and Italian salads and sandwiches. If you want a fairly light meal with some good flavors this is our go to restaurant. It’s more than the burgers and fries you find around the rest of the park.

Runner Up: The Friars Nook

The Friars Nook very well could have taken our number one spot but it’s often closed or open for very limited hours throughout the day. This restaurant serves a variety of different mac and cheeses. Some of the best options include the mac and cheese hotdog and the bacon cheeseburger mac and cheese.

Honorable Mentions: Casey’s, Sleepy Hollow

Winner: Sunshine Seasons

Sunishine Seasons, in The Lands pavilion, offers a large variety of foods that is bound to fit anyone’s needs. There are multiple stations including one with asian cuisine and one with gourmet soups, salads and sandwiches.

Runner Up: Les Halles Boulangerie and Patisserie

Who doesn’t love a good french pastry? It’s also one of the only places I know on property to get a BLT sandwich. Stop here for a meal or just a snack, it’s always going to please the palette.

Honorable Mention: Yorkshire Country Fish Shop, La Cantina de San Angel

Hollywood Studios

Winner: Backlot Express

Probably the number on reason that this one made the top of the list is the fact that they allow you to refill your sodas. There are a few fountains throughout the restaurant. The food itself is on average with what you can find throughout the rest of the parks. A combination of different hamburgers and chicken options with the occasion salad make up the menu.

Runner Up: Pizza Planet

Is this the best pizza found at the parks? No, not even close but it’s not bad. The draw here are all of the arcade games and Toy Story theming found in the space. I am sure that the powers that be would rather have this moved over to the Pixar area of the park but I like where it’s located now.

Honorable Mention: Sunset Ranch Market, ABC Commissary

Animal Kingdom

Winner: Flame Tree Barbeque

I consider myself a bit of a BBQ snob and, to tell you the truth, the stuff they server here isn’t bad for a quick service restaurant at a theme park. There are times when I would love some indoor seating but outside of that it’s easily our favorite at Animal Kingdom.

Runner Up: Pizzafari

It’s pizza and large bugs, nothing more, nothing less. The lack of quality quick service restaurants at the park left us clambering for a runner up and Pizzafari is really the only other place in the park that we eat.

Honorable Mention: None
