It’s All a Little Greek to Me

Before Little Greek opened, I had the concept explained to me as Chipotle goes Greek. I pictured pitas with different meats and toppings where you walk down the line and select them as you go. Although you can pick your meats and toppings if you decide on a gyro of some kind, it’s so much more.
Little Greek is more like a good Greek diner shoved behind a quick order counter. I had the standard gyro, which I was happy to see on a spit bunions the counter, with fries and a drink. The gyro was stuffed with meat and the toppings did not overwhelm the gyro. Their tzatziki sauce was creamy with a great dill and cucumber undertone. The fries seemed to be fresh cut, and if they weren’t they’d be the first frozen fry to trick me.
I also ordered a side of pita and hummus to share among our group. You have the choice of having your pita grilled or fried. At the suggestion of the staff we went with fried. They are lightly fried and then tossed in parmesan cheese. I’m glad I went with their suggestion as it held up well against the hummus and had a wonderful flavor.
If you get a chance to check them out, I highly recommend it. The concept is out of Palm Harbor, Fl, over near St. Pete. Look for more stores to be popping up in the area as the franchise expands.
